New capacitors are shipped with minimal charge, much like older mobile phones. After installation:

• Solar watches: Place in direct sunlight, ideally on a sunny windowsill, for a full charge.

• Kinetic watches: Wear the watch regularly or use a kinetic charging device to build charge.

Note: If the capacitor fails to hold a charge, it usually indicates a fault in the movement or charging system, not the capacitor itself.
